Reform California announced today that both the CA Voter ID Initiative and the Save Prop 13 Initiative are on track to qualify for the November 2026 ballot, following strong early results from county signature verification efforts across the state.
The organization confirmed that 18 counties have completed verification for both petitions, with validity rates exceeding expectations and projected totals well above the required 874,641 valid signatures needed to qualify.
CA Voter ID Initiative
- 1,367,957 signatures submitted
- Projected 1,127,966 valid signatures
Save Prop 13 Initiative
- 1,346,614 signatures submitted
- Projected 1,017,232 valid signatures
“These numbers confirm what we’ve said all along — Californians are ready for common-sense reforms to restore trust in elections and protect taxpayers,” said Reform California Chairman and State Assemblymember Carl DeMaio.
“Even with limited resources, a grassroots army of volunteers has delivered results that Sacramento politicians said were impossible,” DeMaio added.
Building on that momentum, Reform California has launched final signature collection efforts for two additional ballot measures: the Stop the Savings Tax Initiative and the Audit Special Taxes Initiative. The proposals aim to block new taxes on personal assets — including savings, retirement accounts, and home equity — and increase transparency and accountability for special tax spending.
Volunteers have until April 15, 2026, to submit remaining petitions for these measures as the campaign works to qualify all four initiatives for the November ballot.
With verification underway and qualification within reach, Reform California is now turning its focus to the campaign phase — warning that well-funded opposition efforts are expected.
“We know the political establishment will spend heavily to defeat these reforms,” DeMaio said. “That’s why — every dollar we raise now helps us compete and win in November.”
As the campaign moves into the next phase, Reform California is continuing to raise resources to compete against well-funded opposition and secure victory for all four initiatives in November.
Reform California says it will continue monitoring county verification results and providing updates as additional counties complete the process, with early data signaling strong support for the initiatives across California.
